Description

The Sr. Storage Administrator will provide technical services in a highly complex data storage environment. As a key member of the storage services team, the Sr. Storage Administrator will provide analysis and implementation support for data storage and protection solutions including pre-site inspections, initial implementations, customization and integration with the intent of optimizing the operational benefit. This person will work closely with internal business customers, technical team members and other internal support group as well as external vendors to ensure a smooth implementation and transition. The ideal candidate should be experienced with Hitachi, HP StorageWorks and NetApp storage environments as well as VMware and Linux deployments. This person will serve as a senior member of the storage team as part of the FIS dedicated services portfolio. Additionally, the candidate is expected to have experience in large scale file consolidation, Oracle, SQL or Exchange messaging infrastructures.

Experiences with the following are required:

3 - 8 years' hands-on experience in one or more of the following disciplines:
- backup and recovery software
- disk backup and de-duplication technology, such as Data Domain
- RAID storage products
- SAN fibre deployments
- storage management software, such as HP Storage Essentials, HP Command View, Hitachi Device Manager and Tuning Manager, NetApp Data OnTAP
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work independently, but also as part of a collaborative team dynamic in initiating best practices and striving for excellence
Must have excellent skills in one or more of the following areas:
- Linux
- Windows
- VMware
Good knowledge of networking technologies
Experience working with storage products on a variety of Open Systems
Excellent analytical abilities, resulting in problem resolution
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience / training towards technical certifications

Experience with the following a plus:

High performance storage subsystems and SAN technologies; FC, FCoE, NAS, HP EVA, Hitachi USPV & AMS 2500, NetApp FAS 3000 & 3100
Database backup and restore, such as Oracle, SQL, Exchange
Fibre channel fabric, such as Brocade DCX and Cisco MDS switches
Clustered systems or high availability solutions
