Position Description


Summary:
The Loan Administrator III is an experienced, qualified individual who possesses a thorough understanding of the basic principles governing loan documentation and perfection of security interests. The Loan Administrator III is responsible for all of the responsibilities of the Loan Administrator I & II.
Loan Administrator III’s will no longer be limited to documentation, some will be responsible for ensuring that the loan closes in a timely manner, and that all credit and collateral issues are resolved and properly documented.

Some of the new functions will specifically include:

The Loan Administrator III would work with the officers when a new credit is being underwritten or considered, and would understand the entire transaction, from both a business view and a collateral view;
The Loan Administrator III would understand the basic financial covenants contained in the documents, and would review documents to ensure that the financial covenants complied with the term sheets and/or approval documents;
The Loan Administrator III would sign off on the documents, to ensure that the documents comply with all credit and collateral terms of the approval;
The Loan Administrator III would be an authorized signer and would execute the closing documents on behalf of Capital One; and
The Loan Administrator III would draft any amendments required, and work directly with the Credit Officer on most of these amendments.

Responsibilities:

To ensure that loans and renewals are closed in compliance with the Bank's loan policy and in compliance with any other requirements designated by the credit approval authority.
To support loan officers by communicating with Agent banks, customers, attorneys’ appraisers, insurance agents, etc., to coordinate the details of loan closings.
To identify and clear all Collateral Exceptions within the appropriate time periods.
To review loan documents drafted by outside counsel to ensure that the documents satisfy the requirements of the appropriate credit approval authority.
To draft preliminary waivers of loan agreements, amendments to loan agreements, and other various agreements.
To draft and handle execution of partial releases, subordination of liens, etc. on standard bank forms, without the use of counsel.
To review title commitments and surveys to ensure that the commitment is satisfactory and does not contain any exceptions that are unacceptable to the Bank.
To work with Account Officer to gain an understanding of the credit underwriting and the key structural issues of each loan.
To take complete responsibility for loan closings, including review of documentation (as described above), preparation of necessary (document-related) amendments and waivers, and execution of all closing documents.

Basic Qualifications:

High School diploma
4 years directly applicable banking experience with responsibility for commercial loan documentation
4 years experience as a real estate/banking paralegal for a law firm or a title company.
3 years experience as Commercial Loan Administrator
